Arrival into Manchester or Liverpool. This is an easy connection from London. Overnight in Manchester. Next day to the Yorkshire Dales en route to the world-renowned Lake District National Park. A couple of days here makes it easy to see why villages like Hawkshead and others inspired both Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth to live here, inspired by the beautiful scenery.
Next day we venture via Northumberland National Park to Newcastle on the north-east coast of England. This is a great working-class city, the heart and soul of manufacturing in shipbuilding and coal mining for many decades. We can recommend an-bike tour around Hadrian’s Roman wall. At one time a border wall to stop the ingress of marauding Scottish chieftains. Onward to historic York city to walk down the Shambles, the most famous street in York and visit the magnificent York Minster. To conclude we venture to North York Moors and the Peak District with its haunting past. The very best England has to offer!
The Itinerary
DAY 1 – WELCOME TO ENGLAND
Arrive into Manchester or Liverpool Airport and transfer to your hotel. Birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, Manchester is a vibrant city with excellent shopping, fascinating history and two of the famous football teams. Enjoy a tour of Manchester or take a tour of one of the two football stadiums.

DAY 2 – YORKSHIRE DALES & LAKE DISTRICT
Travel from Manchester to Lake District, via Yorkshire Dales. This National Park is full of
stone-built villages, stunning landscapes, and vibrant communities. Visitors will feel like they’ve truly experienced the real England. Arrive in the Lake District for your overnight

DAY 3 – LAKE DISTRICT
Explore the Lake District on your own or join a guided day trip. Discover picturesque villages like Hawkshead or learn more about the literary connections: both Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth lived here and were inspired by the beautiful scenery.

DAY 4 – NORTHUMBERLAND NATIONAL PARK
Travel to Newcastle area, via Northumberland National Park. A short distance from the cities of Newcastle upon-Tyne, Durham and Carlisle, Northumberland National Park is home to England’s cleanest rivers, purest air and darkest skies. Enjoy a ranger led e-bike tour around Hadrian’s wall or visit a former Roman barracks. Newcastle is the former home to Britain’s ship building industry and coal mining, and now a vibrant city.

DAY 5 – NEWCASTLE TO YORK
Travel to York to explore this historic city. The town walls and medieval lanes mean that the city is best explored on foot. Make sure to walk down the Shambles, the most famous street in York, visit the magnificent York Minster, or sample some of the local chocolate at York’s Chocolate Story. Why not join a ghost walk in the evening to hear about the most haunted city in Britain.

DAY 6 – NORTH YORK MOORS
Today you can enjoy a day tour to North York Moors National Park. History and nature have combined to give this National Park an amazingly vibrant landscape, rich in heritage and wildlife – an inspiring place to visit.

DAY 7 – Peak District
Travel to Manchester via Peak District National Park. The Park is well known for its quaint homes, plateaus and valleys. Discover the interesting stories around Eyam, the historic plague village, concluding with a walk in the dark peak. Check in for your last night in Manchester.

Depart Manchester or Liverpool Airport.
